Waterfront Offices

GDSNY were engaged as design consultants for the development of a 1 million sf mixed-use developed on the Waterfront in Stockholm.  The project includes a Class A office building, hotel and convention center. GDS Development Principles also acted in a former capacity as developer of the project.

Central with spectacular views, the Waterfront Building offers class A offices with high efficiency and technical adaption.

With a central location, and a spectacular view over Stockholm, the Waterfront Building offers 25,000m2 of class A office space with a high degree of efficiency and technical adaption. The building meets the highest international standards for energy efficiency and sustainability. West End Plaza features panoramic views over the water as well as the city. The location creates unique conditions for communications and accessibility. Suspended ceilings, raised floors, 2.7-meter floor-to-ceiling heights, and efficient air conditioning and ventilation offer total climate control and comfort. Conduits allowing access to wires, cables, and other information infrastructure enable tenants to upgrade to new technologies immediately and inexpensively. Tenant amenities include a large interior reception lobby, an auditorium, conference facilities, a fitness center, a restaurant, private dining salons, a cafeteria, and underground parking. A metal coat, perforated by horizontal windows and skylights, stretches across two of the building’s vertical exteriors and the building’s roof giving the project a distinctive and recognizable façade system. New and exciting programmatic elements in Stockholm’s skyline accompany the office component. When the Stockholm Waterfront is completed in 2011, Stockholm will receive a new, long awaited congress hall with room seating for up to 3000 participants in local and international events. The development masterplan will include a hotel with 418 rooms, half of which will have spectacular views over both Riddarfjärden and Stockholm’s City Hall. The Waterfront Building is located opposite the World Trade Center in Stockholm and along one the primary commercial avenues, ensuring tenants world class access to the business nucleus in Sweden and the EU. GDS provided concept design and façade consultancy services as well as branding services for the project.
